ART

Art takes many forms at New Morning School. Preschool and primary teachers incorporate artistic opportunities into their daily plans.  There are regular art classes once a week for the elementary and middle school students, but the opportunity for creative endeavors isn't limited to that time – creations are made, journals are illustrated, and art work is integrated with social studies projects.

In the art classes, assignments often include art vocabulary and art history. Artistic concepts of design, composition and balance are explored through the use of many different types of media, and by working in two-and three-dimensions. Artwork abounds on the walls at New Morning School, each child's creation being different from the others.
