MUSIC

Preschool and primary children experience music activities in their classrooms almost every day. Songs, rhythm activities and instruments combine with movement for a full-body experience.

The lower elementary students participate in weekly vocal music classes taught by a music specialist. Traditional songs are meshed with learning about rhythm, simple notation and patterns.

Upper elementary and middle school students may elect to play a band instrument and join one of the band ensembles. Students practice drills and learn the fundamentals of their instruments, play new songs from sheet music, and polish their repertoire for three performances during the year.
