PARENT INVOLVEMENT

New Morning School was founded on the principle of parental involvement in education.  There are many options for each family and co-op options make it possible for dual-career families to participate.

Family support results in positive benefits for each child. One such benefit is the low student to teacher ratio of 12 to 1.

Affordable tuition is another positive offshoot. The co-op format allows the school to set tuition at about 70% of the per student cost. NMS offers a curriculum comparable to schools charging a much higher rate.

The co-op structure offers parents the opportunity to observe and support their children in the classrooms. It encourages personal contact with the teachers and involvement in educational decisions. Parents support the educational programs and teaching staff by providing assistance in all aspects of school administration: classroom assistance, building maintenance, revenue generation and administrative decision making.

Family participation in the co-op requires work and commitment. Co-op obligations are tailored to meet each family's needs, skills and interests. Multiple co-op levels are available in addition to a non co-op option. Tuition varies with the level of involvement.

There are a variety of co-op positions available so that families can complete their obligations in the time available to them.  For more information about co-op positions and for the tuition rates at each co-op level, please contact us.
